Q&A

Below are some frequently asked questions. Please feel free to contact your regular contact person for more information.

Where does the name RYSA come from?
rhyz- / rhiz- from the Greek rhiza = root (as in rhizome, rhizobacteria). It refers to the physical root of a plant, but the word is also used figuratively for origin, foundation, or base. To rise also means to grow. Strong roots, therefore, provide a solid foundation for growth.

Continuity of supply

Do the security of supply and availability of the substrates remain at least at the same levels, including during busy periods?
Most certainly. By joining sites and raw materials, the security of supply will actually increase. We will now have access to several production sites and a broader flow of raw materials, which strengthens continuity, including during peak periods. Getting more grip on raw materials is an important aim of the cooperation.
Will there be changes in production sites, logistics, or stock management that may change delivery periods or flexibility?
Our production sites have a stable set-up. When we introduce optimisations, this always happens in consultation and with benefits for our clients in mind. With more efficient logistics routes and the benefits of scale, we can actually offer more flexibility and more stable delivery periods.

Product and cultivation technology

Do the existing mixtures stay exactly the same or will the composition change?
There will be no changes to the existing formulas. The trusted quality will remain the same as always. Should there be a wish for a change or a new mixture in the future, we will discuss this first and this will only happen in good consultation.

Prices and contract conditions

Will there be changes to prices, indexations, or supplements due to the merger and scaling-up?
No, this will not impact prices or conditions at all. There may be some changes to internal processes in the future, for example the introduction of a new ERP system. Any changes to invoices will always be agreed clearly in advance.
Will existing contracts, volumes, and terms and conditions be respected or will new framework agreements be introduced?
All the current contracts, volumes, and terms and conditions will be respected in full. Clients will retain their existing agreements. Any new framework agreements will only be introduced in consultation.

Service and contact person

Will the trusted adviser/contact person remain the same, or will there be a new team or a new structure?
No, your trusted adviser will continue to be your contact person. We will also obtain access to additional expertise in a larger team, which means we will be able to provide more support and professional knowledge.
Which service will be offered (analyses, cultivation advice, monitoring, complaints handling) and will there be changes to the response time?
In Den Hoorn, Bleiswijk, and Cuijk, personal contact and strong cultivation-technical support have been at the heart for many years. We aim to retain and strengthen this shared focus. All existing services will continue to be available, including mix analyses, physical/chemical tests and research, cultivation advice, and a rapid follow-up to questions or complaints. With broader knowledge and support in the team, our site in Vriezenveen will have extra impetus, which means we can optimise our response time and support even more.

Long-term strategy and reliability

What is the long-term strategy of the merged company and how does it fit the plans of the grower?
The joint strategy is focused on more grip on raw materials, such as peat, coconut, and bark. This produces better continuity and availability for our clients. We also enhance the knowledge exchange between the teams, and create a flexible layer within the organisation, so we can respond more quickly to specific needs and challenges. It goes without saying, that there will be plenty of attention to customised work, innovation, and making substrates future-proof in line with developments in the sector.
How does the new company guarantee sustainability, raw materials security, and innovation so that the grower will not be faced with surprises in the future?
The company continues to invest in sustainable, renewable, and circular raw materials, and in transparent chains. With several raw-material flows and production sites, availability is better protected. Innovation continues to be a driving force, with the continuous development of mixtures that comply with changing legislation and cultivation methods. We have also taken a significant step towards the Covenant targets for 2030.
